Tradition Meets Innovation in Lava Craftsmanship
Volcanic lava stone transformed into architectural surfaces, glazed tiles, basins, bathtubs, tables, planters and bespoke design elements.
Transforming Matter into Vision
Ranieri develops volcanic lava as a material for architecture, surfaces and sculptural design.
With deep knowledge of lava stone and highly developed glazing techniques, Ranieri creates surfaces, colours and bespoke elements where material, fire, craft and design work together.
In the UK, Specifo supports architects, interior designers and project clients with product selection, samples, quotations and project coordination.
Three Ways of Working With Lava
Pure Lava
Natural lava is the most direct expression of the material. Porosity, chromatic variation and surface irregularities remain part of its character.
Glazed Lava
During firing, the glaze reacts with the lava surface, creating depth, reflection, tonal variation and a living chromatic effect.
Recycled Lava
Reborn is Ranieri’s recycled lava material technology, created for lighter, stronger and more versatile architectural applications.
A Tool to Read Colour, Not Simply Choose It
Ranieri’s Color Library is designed to show how colour behaves on lava stone. Each colour is the result of material, glaze, temperature and time.
Colours should be understood as living references rather than flat samples. Final selection should always be confirmed through project-specific samples.

Textured, Glazed and Material Surfaces
Ranieri surfaces are not applied finishes. Each surface is a specific way of working with lava, balancing control, variation, texture, colour and project performance.

The direct material presence of lava stone.
Linear
A directional surface language for architectural rhythm.
Rock
A stronger textural expression of the volcanic material.
Dark Moon
A deep, tactile surface with strong visual character.
Linear Color
Colour and texture combined through the glazing process.
Meteorite
A distinctive glazed surface with intense material depth.
Surface Definitions
Decorative and architectural surface treatments.
Non-Slip
Textured finishes suitable for functional surface applications.
L-Reborn
Recycled lava technology for new design and architectural uses.
Tiles, Bathroom Pieces, Tables and Planters

Crafting Lava for Architecture and Design
Ranieri works directly with architects and designers to define formats, surfaces, colours and details according to the real conditions of each project.
The work is not simply adapting an existing product. It is about translating intention into buildable, coherent and long-lasting solutions.
